Kardola Weavers Village
Kardola is a picturesque weavers' village in western Odisha that celebrates the rich legacy of Sambalpuri Ikat handloom. As part of an Odisha Tourism initiative, nearly 50 weavers' homes have been transformed into vibrant canvases showcasing traditional Ikat motifs, creating a unique open-air art gallery. Beyond its colourful streets, the village offers visitors an immersive cultural experience through interactions with artisan families who continue the centuries-old craft using traditional tie-and-dye techniques and pit looms. It is also one of the finest places to purchase authentic, handwoven Sambalpuri cotton and silk textiles directly from the master weavers, making Kardola a must-visit destination for lovers of art, heritage, and sustainable tourism.
