Oct 17 - Oct 21 , 04:00 PM - 11:59 PM Puri Celebrated annually in Puri during the month of Ashwina (September–October), Gosani Jatra is one of Odisha's most distinctive Shakti festivals, centred around the worship of Goddess Durga in her martial form. In Puri, the name Gosani is deeply intertwined with local culture and folkore and associated with respect, authority and divine sovereignty. Organised by the traditional Sahis (neighbourhoods) of Puri, the festival is marked by grand processions, vibrant tableaux, traditional music, martial displays and the ceremonial worship of the Goddess and her manifestations on Vijaya Dashami. Rooted in the erstwhile Gajapati kingdom's military traditions, Gosani Jatra transforms the by-lanes of Puri into a living canvas of devotion, pageantry and community celebration.
